Residential Paving Services
Whether you need a new driveway, a driveway replacement, or repairs on your existing asphalt driveway paving, we have you covered. Our team is ready to install an attractive, durable new driveway for you and your guests to enjoy, resurface, sealcoat, or repair your existing driveway.
Our driveway paving on built on a 4” base of crusher run and a 2” top layer of asphalt to give you a driveway that’s more than strong enough to handle light-duty and light delivery vehicles.*
Do you like to entertain? Have several drivers in your family? A dedicated parking pad gives guests and family members somewhere to park without blocking the driveway or putting undue wear on your lawn. When you choose a parking pad from Jack Buckland Paving, you can say goodbye to bare patches and ruts in your yard and still have a driveway free of obstructions.
Note: While our parking pads can be covered with an open-sided, lightweight metal or fabric-covered carport, Jack Buckland Paving does not recommend using our surfaces as the foundation for prefabricated steel or wooden buildings. Our paving is intended for live loads like vehicular and foot traffic and will not support the significant dead load of an enclosed structure.
The family that plays together stays together! If your family and friends like to spend your off hours working on your three-pointers or backhands or enjoying the invigorating thrill of a game of pickleball, we have the solution for you. If you have student athletes in your family, give them the advantage of a “home court” to practice on.
Our sports courts offer the same 1-year warranty as our vehicle-bearing paving products. Without the load of heavy vehicles rolling across it, you can expect your properly-maintained basketball, tennis, pickleball, or other sports court to provide years of fun and competition.
Is your new driveway paving nearing the end of its second year? Has the normal wear and tear of daily use got your asphalt looking faded and dirty? Are cracks and voids beginning to show up? It’s time for a sealcoat.
Sealcoating is a protective product that must be regularly applied to any asphalt surface. It protects underlying asphalt and restores the surface’s original color, fills voids and small cracks, and creates an attractive, smooth finish.
Need to smooth out your driveway paving, but sealcoating or resurfacing isn’t in the budget? Jack Buckland Paving provides reliable crack-fill solutions to repair the damage and slow future deterioration of your asphalt.
First, we take the time to clean out all the cracks and damaged areas, removing dirt, loose asphalt, weeds, or other debris. Then, we use a rubberized crack-fill product, heated to more than 500 degrees, to fill cracks and damage with a flexible but resilient patch.
If your paving is significantly worn or damaged, it may be time for a resurfacing. We’ll clean your existing asphalt, fill any cracks and voids, and lay an entirely new layer of asphalt over the top. Like a new paving project, your new asphalt will be compacted, edge-tamped, and backfilled to ensure maximum strength and durability.
Need to Repair or Replace Your Driveway Paving? Jack’s Got Your Back!
*Most residential asphalt jobs are intended to withstand light-duty traffic only. If you anticipate heavy-duty commercial vehicles, earthmovers, or other heavy equipment to use your driveway, talk to Jack Buckland about heavy-duty paving services.
How Jack Buckland Does It Better
A Solid Foundation
Our paving projects go down over a base layer of at least 4″ of crusher run to ensure a solid foundation that allows your paved surface to weather the ravages of time while remaining stable, sturdy, and dependable.
A Sterilized Base
Here in Georgia, weeds and unwanted growth seem to flourish in even just a few grains of dirt. Before laying down asphalt, we thoroughly sterilize the ground to reduce the likelihood of plant life damaging your new paving.
A Razor-Straight Edge
You’ve seen it before: a paved surface with a ragged, uneven, crumbling edge. That’s never a good look. When we’re finished rolling out your new asphalt, we hand-tamp the edges and backfill to produce a crisp, clean edge that’s on-grade with the surrounding landscape. Never worry about an errant tire breaking your paving’s edge.
A Clean Finished Product
When our team is finished with your job, the cleanup has been managed as well. Our goal with every job is to leave the site looking as good as or better than when we arrived. No slag piles, garbage, abandoned stakes or ribbon, or any other refuse will ever be left for you to deal with.
What To Expect
When you partner with Jack Buckland Paving, you can always expect courteous service from a team that cares about your satisfaction. From the moment you call, we’re on your side. Your commercial paving job starts when you get in touch with us.
We’ll meet you at the site to discuss your needs and options and provide your free estimate.
Once you’re ready to get started, we’ll schedule your project as soon as weather and scheduling permit. We strive to start all jobs within two weeks of your approval.
We’ll complete your work as quickly as possible. When our team arrives, we bring what we need to get things done quickly, cleanly, and safely.
You don’t pay until we’re finished, and we’re not finished until you’re satisfied and your property has been returned to the same or better condition it was when we arrived.
Depending on temperature, your asphalt project will be ready for use within 1-2 days.

Asphalt concrete (commonly called asphalt, blacktop, tarmac, or pavement) is a composite product that’s made up of a mineral aggregate, such as gravel, crushed stone, or sand, bound together with a dense, black petroleum product known as bitumen, asphalt, or tar. The bitumen is heated past its melting point, and the aggregate is mixed in to create a consistent mixture.
For many residential paving projects, asphalt is the obvious choice:
For larger projects, asphalt offers noticeable savings over concrete or other surfaces.
Asphalt handles the heat and scorching sun of Georgia summers more effectively than concrete.
Asphalt repairs are easier and less expensive than concrete repairs.
When properly maintained and treated with a regular sealcoating application, asphalt surfaces can last 15-20 years.
While each job may feature slight variations in process, the general procedure for laying down asphalt is:
Grading
We use special earthmoving equipment to create a smooth base for paving correctly sloped for drainage and graded to provide consistent, eased curves and elevation changes.
Base Layer
The base layer for all Jack Buckland Paving asphalt projects comprises at least 4″ of crusher run (6” or more for heavy-duty applications). Crusher run is a stone product composed of coarse stones and fine stone particles.
Base Rolling and Packing
The base layer is then rolled and packed. During this process, the crusher run substrate is compacted, and the fine particles in the base mixture fill any voids left between the larger aggregate.
Sterilization
To deter plant life from trying to take root in or break through your paving, we apply an herbicide to the base layer to kill any existing plant life and impede future growth.
Asphalt Layer
For standard paving jobs, we lay down a thick layer of asphalt made with fine aggregate for a smooth finish. Before compacting, this layer will be greater than 2″ in thickness.
Compaction and Edge-tamping
We roll and compact the asphalt layer to ensure it’s as solid as possible. During this step, the layer is compacted to 2″ in thickness. We further hand-tamp the edges of your asphalt to give it a clean, hard edge stronger than an untamped edge.
Backfilling
We use dirt from the grading process to backfill the surrounding landscape to the same level as the paving. That way, your guests will only see a clean, laser-straight edge – and if an errant tire rolls off your asphalt, it will transition smoothly to the surrounding dirt or grass without tearing up the edge of your paving.
When properly maintained, a single application of asphalt can last for 15-20 years before it needs to be replaced or resurfaced.
